A stroke occurs when blood supply from your brain ruptures or is blocked. Brain cells start to die without the oxygen and nutrients provided by blood. Symptoms occur in different areas of the body that are controlled by the damaged part of the brain. It is very important to get medical attention when a stroke occurs. Call 911 immediately if you think you or someone else may be having a stroke.
